-Picking a Poster Picture-

I am required to produce a poster that goes with my Digipak. From the pictures that i took for my Digipak, i have the decision of picking my Poster picture from the range that i have. Here are some of the photos that i am thinking of making my Poster picture.

I noticed that i like most pictures of my artist standing up. I would like her to be posing, her hair shown and her face clear.

I have decided to use this picture for my Poster:

I chose this picture to use for my Poster because she looks professional in the sense that she took instruction well and her pose is strong. I made sure to brink her hair forward so that we can see how well it suits her. I will need to crop the block on the right and make sure that picture is not stretched. I also need to add my text, add all the relevant information and the Digipak front cover on there as well.

-2nd Draft of Music Video-

This is my 2nd draft of my music video. From the footage that i redid, i was able to improve the video with more range of artist shots. i also included the multiple shots of the first half of the narrative. I tried to edit them to the beat of the song. It was quite hard as the initial beat is quite fast so i couldn't cut the footage at every beat. I feel like it can be improved which will do to create the final cut of my music video.

FEEDBACK

What went well was my costume, the split screen and the narrative was clear. However most people said that i need to get the lip syncing more accurately.

-1st Draft of Digipak & Feedback-

This is my 1st draft of my Digipak. I like this because i kept to incorporating my colour theme which was purple. The bottom left panel has a picture of my artist to the side to show of the side of her face and to show of the uniqueness of her. The middle picture is of my artist in a long shot with the space on the left of her where my track list is. The bottom right is my front cover which i think is perfect as i do not want to follow the convention of a close up of the artist face. The top left panel is my bonus video album which are a few videos of the making of the music videos. This special album should attract my target audience as they get to see the artist in her everyday life while shooting her music videos. The middle panel of the main CD is attractive as it is patterned and two different colors so that when the purple patterned CD is taken off the pattern will still be there but in black. I chose to have this pattern as it is different as i haven't seen a CD with any patterns on a RnB CD so far. I made it two colors as it looked too plain in one color and i needed to make the edge of the CD present so it doesn't look flat. The last panel on the top right is completely different to the rest in the sense that the pose she is in is quite weird which makes her likeable and the audience may think she is soft, fun, quirky and serious about her artistry.

These four feedback sheets are what some of the people in my class commented how my Digipak looks so far.

What went well was that they liked the pictures on my Digipak and they liked my colour theme of purple. They suggested that i play around with the contrast of the photos

-Editing my Digipak-

I have changed around the pictures for the Digipak. I felt that each image has to be something different and unique to the other one. One is with her kneeling on the floor with one leg out to show her legs and shoes. Another that is on the side of her body showing the side of her face and her unique hair. That middle one of her standing up posing while there is space on the left of her which is where i am going to put my track listing. Lastly the front cover is of her sitting down on a stool with her leg out and her hair different. i chose this image to be my front cover because traditional Rnb artist front covers have a close up of the artist. However i decided that i don't want to do that. |i wanted to pick a cover that is unique but just as strong as a close up image.

These are the different stages of what i did to produce my digipak, including the CDs.

-Logo Research-

I have noticed that RnB artists do not really have proper logos. But what they do have is consistency. Their artist name has always been the same but nowadays more developed but surely still the same. Here are some examples:

I want my font to be like these artists, the writing looks personalised to their style like i want mine to be. I need to make sure my font is up to date with modern society as the albums on the left are past albums and the ones on the right are recent.

So i want my font will be my logo.

What i did was, i went on a font website (dafont) and i found a font called Bizarre which looks like Rihanna's font that she consistently uses. I decided that i could put my artists initials on top of each other to give a logo that is small recognisable and different. I also experimented with my original font Madamoiselle Camille which is a swirly skinny font which looks sophisticatedly soft.

These are my ideas that i have come up with. After close deliberation, i chose my original font Mademoiselle Camille to do the initials for my artist. However i edited the font by taking away all of the swirly bits so that it is easy to read and personalised to my artist.

-Editing them both together-

These are me editing my new footage. I felt like i had to do this because i wanted to produce a decent music video.
I decided to do a spilt screen to add a range of different elements into my music video. So far it looked good.

I took on the feedback that i need more shots of the boy asking the girl for her number. i have a range of different shots that i can and have used in my music video.

I even took some copse ups of both of the actors as they are having a conversation.
We can now see their facial expressions to relate more to them during the music video.
I redid my artist footage to get some more shots. This shot is of her looking up into the camera singing.
This shot is of my artist singing while sitting down on a chair.

This shot is of my artist standing up while the camera captures her in a long shot.
This is the re-film of one of the last scenes of the boy and girl getting closer.
Lastly, i captured my singing artist in an angle with her framed on the right where there is black space on the left to give my shots more of variety.

Overall this editing process was hard because my editing skills are not very good but i tried to invision it how i would like to see it. i believe that i have got a good narrative and my artists performance is believable.

-Re-Film #2-

Artist
I got more shots of my artist. i have some where she is standing, some where she is on the left hand of the screen, some where she is looking up and some where she is sitting on a stool.

These will hopefully help my music video have a range of different shots of my artist.

-Re-Film #1-

Actors

I reshot this scene as i needed more shots but closer.

This is one of the last scenes where  the boy and girl
are finally comfortable in each others presence.

Hopefully these extra shots will help my music video have a range of different shots to tell the story.

-Reflect-

More calender dates.

After close reflection, i have come to the conclusion that i need to re shoot both my artist and both my actors. i was absolutely not happy with the way the first shoot went with both of them. With my artist i need to have her in more shots and with my actors i need to get more shots getting closer and closer when the boy is asking the girl for her number. The shot is too long and you cannot see him getting the number, all you can see is them two standing there and having some type of interaction.
I have arranged to reshoot.

-1st Draft Music Video Pitch & Feedback-

From the footage that i managed to get. I edited them together in the beat of the music synchronised. I think that my first draft was a success as i had to develop my ability to edit and my ability to know what i planned to put to action. However it is not perfect as some of the shots are too long. i feel like i need a range of shots from my artist and i only have about three. I may add some more. I do think that i need to improve it by shortening the shots and putting them more to the beat even though the beat is fast.

My class gave me some feed back that i need to take into consideration:

They liked the basketball scene, my use of jump cut and the
lip synching. However they said that i need more footage perhaps to make the music video have more substance to it.
